In parallel, Ecomondo will offer a forum for dialogue on the sustainability challenges and green socio-economic development of the African continent, aligned with the Italian government’s Mattei Plan. Delegates from 120 countries and 60 international trade associations will participate, and collaborations with over 100 foreign magazines will strengthen the event’s role as a meeting place between European best practices and international demand for green transition solutions.

Economic relations between Africa and Italy have intensified in recent years, with growing cooperation in various sectors, including the green and sustainable economy. Italy, as a leader in environmental technologies, plays a key role in supporting ecological initiatives in Africa. This collaboration is manifested through Italian investments in sustainable development projects, partnerships for clean technologies, and knowledge exchange on natural resource management.

Italy bets on green growth in Africa

The Mattei Plan for Africa aims to strengthen sustainable development and the green economy on the continent through investments in infrastructure, ecological technologies, and local initiatives. A budget of 1.5 billion euros has been announced to support these projects and promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

The Mattei Plan, focused on supporting sustainable development in Africa, illustrates Italy’s commitment to enhancing these economic ties while fostering green growth on the continent.
