E-commerce : ADF and Smart Africa Alliance launch $1.5 million project to boost sector

The African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the African Development Bank (AfDB), and the Smart Africa Alliance announced on April 25 the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to launch the Institutional Support for Digital Payments and e-Commerce Policies for Cross-Border Trade Project (IDECT), which aims to streamline digital payments and e-commerce policies in ten African countries.

The MoU was initialed in Zimbabwe by Lacina Koné, Smart Africa’s managing director, and Leïla Mokaddem, the African Development Bank’s managing director for the Southern Africa region, on the sidelines of the 6th Transform Africa Summit (TAS), which runs until Friday, April 28 in Victoria Falls.
