DRC : €900M mobilized for humanitarian aid after Paris conference
Three months after the International Conference in Paris on 30 October 2025, co-hosted by France and Togo to address the humanitarian crisis in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and the Great Lakes region, nearly €900 million (≈ $957 M) of the €1.5 billion pledged has been mobilized for emergency humanitarian aid, mainly by European Union states and the EU itself.
Tracked in cooperation with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), this funding supports medical care, psychosocial support and civilian protection in Masisi, Sake and Minova (North and South Kivu), strengthens security for NGOs operating in North Kivu, South Kivu and Ituri, and aids humanitarian actions in refugee camps in Burundi, aligned with the regional approach agreed at the Paris meeting.
