The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) has signed a financing agreement for a renewable energy project in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in partnership with Kipay Investments. This 200 MW hydropower project will support the country’s energy transition, reduce CO₂ emissions by 108,000 tonnes annually, and provide reliable, clean power to local communities and mining companies. The project will also create over 2,000 direct jobs.
