Djibouti : Elected to chair UNESCO cultural diversity committee in 2027

Djibouti was elected on February 20, 2026, to chair the 20th session of the Intergovernmental Committee of UNESCO’s 2005 Convention, scheduled for 2027, following the 19th session held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris (February 17–20, 2026), according to UNESCO. Ambassador Ayeid Mousseid Yahya will lead discussions on creative industries and the International Fund for Cultural Diversity.
