Digital identity : Tunisia launches the first prepaid electronic payment card

On Saturday 15 April 2023, the Tunisian Ministry of Communication Technologies launched the first prepaid electronic payment card linked to digital identity. During the ceremony, it was announced that « to enable citizens to make secure online payments and withdrawals, 10,000 cards will be distributed free of charge. According to the Tunisian Ministry of Communication Technologies, the card called « E-houwiya » is requested online and received at the indicated address, and the balance can be reloaded in post offices or via bank cards.
