Cooperation Mauritania and Senegal are entering the first phase of gas exploitation (LNG)

Senegal and Mauritania have taken the 4th significant step in their joint desire to exploit the gas resources of the Grand Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project, an innovative offshore floating liquefied natural gas platform.

The two countries signed, on Tuesday 11 February in Dakar, in the presence of the Senegalese Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Mouhamadou Makhtar Cissé, and his Mauritanian counterpart, Mohamed Ould Abdel Vetah, a contract for the sale of production of 2.5 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas.
