On September 8 and 9, 2025, the Second Africa Climate Summit (ACS2) took place in Addis Ababa, bringing together African leaders, financial institutions, and civil society actors. Two major initiatives were launched:
- Launch of the Cooperation Framework for the Africa Green Industrialization Initiative (AGII): This partnership aims to mobilize over $100 billion to support green industrial opportunities in Africa. Financial institutions such as the African Development Bank, Africa Finance Corporation, and KCB Group participated in this commitment .
- Creation of the Just Resilience Framework (JRF): In collaboration with the Climate Justice Impact Fund for Africa (CJIFA), this framework will support local climate initiatives, focusing on rural communities and traditional knowledge.
These initiatives aim to strengthen Africa’s position as a leader in the energy transition and promote climate solutions tailored to local realities.
