Climate : African Development Bank mobilizes nearly $1 billion for youth climate adaptation

The African Development Bank and the Global Center on Adaptation have pledged $996.6 million to support African youth entrepreneurs developing climate adaptation solutions across the continent. The announcement was made by Akinwumi Adesina, president of the bank, during an initiative focused on youth climate action. An additional $4 million will be allocated to strengthen the YouthAdapt program, which supports climate-focused startups and small businesses. According to the African Development Bank, Africa contributes only around 4% of global greenhouse gas emissions, yet remains highly vulnerable to climate change impacts.
