Climate : 3 African countries selected to lead $1B industrial decarbonization initiative

Brazil, Egypt, Mexico, Namibia, South Africa, Turkey, and Uzbekistan have been selected by the Climate Investment Funds (CIF) to pioneer its $1 billion Industrial Decarbonization Program, the world’s first concessional finance initiative focused on cutting industrial emissions in developing countries. Backed by the CIF Capital Market Mechanism, the program targets technologies like green hydrogen and low-carbon steel to drive a global green industry shift.
