Chad : IMF approves $625 million support to boost economic eecovery

On July 25, 2025, the IMF Executive Board approved a 48-month Extended Credit Facility (ECF) worth $625 million for Chad. The financing will support the country’s 2025–2030 National Development Plan by enhancing fiscal sustainability, expanding targeted social spending and strengthening governance. It also aims to address Chad’s urgent balance of payments gap, exacerbated by volatile oil prices and refugee challenges. The ECF is expected to mobilize additional donor support and reinforce macroeconomic stability across the CEMAC region.
