Cape Verde : UN launches a USD 2.5 million circular economy programme in Boa Vista

On 27 November in Sal Rei, the UN launched a circular economy initiative funded by the Joint SDG Fund, with a budget of USD 2.5 million. Implemented by three UN agencies alongside the government and the municipality, the programme aims to develop a public-private partnership for solid waste management. Mayor Claudio Mendonça welcomed progress on long-standing sanitation issues, while UNIDO stressed the project’s economic and ecological potential.
