Botswana : Water Network Upgrade with the Installation of 33,000 Smart Meters

Botswana advances its water-resource security with the completion of the installation of over 33,000 smart prepaid meters across Gaborone and nearby areas. Led by the Water Utilities Corporation with Lesira-Teq and Leeroy Systems, the project aims to cut 48% treated-water losses and improve leak detection through real-time LoRaWAN alerts. The initiative now stands as a benchmark for water-stressed African nations modernising their utilities.
