The government of Botswana announced Wednesday the creation of a sovereign wealth fund to curb reliance on diamonds, boost job creation and enhance management of state-owned enterprises. The fund will channel investments into agriculture, tourism and renewable energy to build resilience against the slowdown in the global diamond market.
