Botswana : $27bn five-year plan to diversify the economy

Botswana’s Parliament is debating the 12th National Development Plan (NDP 12), aimed at reducing dependence on diamonds. The plan includes 388 billion pula ($27 bn) in infrastructure investments—transport, housing, water—to boost growth and employment, funded through public-private partnerships and institutional investors.
