Benin will mobilize €457.3 million from financial partners over 4 years to strengthen food security, according to the French Regional Economic Service in Abidjan. These funds will enable the country to increase maize production by 400,000 tons (t), market garden produce by 300,000 t and cassava production by 1.5 million t.As a reminder, 26% of Beninese households are food insecure, of which 1.9% are severely insecure, due to the security situation in the Sahel, the socio-economic consequences of the war in Ukraine and climate change.
