Benin : AfDB provides 330,000 USD to strengthen CDC Benin and boost SME financing

The African Development Bank signed a 330,000 USD grant agreement on 19 February 2026 in Cotonou with the Caisse des dépôts et consignations du Bénin under the Capital Markets Development Trust Fund to enhance CDC Benin’s capacity to finance small and medium‑sized enterprises (SMEs) in Benin and West Africa. The support will strengthen the institution’s governance, internal policies, operational procedures and staff training, and help develop an investment pipeline including the identification of at least three SME‑focused investment funds. The AfDB says this support will help mobilize capital and strengthen financial intermediation in the region.
