World Bank: Resignation of Jim Yong Kim
World Bank President Jim Yong Kim announced on January 7th , in a statement, his resignation which will officially be on February 1st , four years before the end of his second term.
Without justifying his decision, he nevertheless indicates his decision to join the private sector in a company operating in the field of « infrastructure investments in developing countries ».
Kristalina Georgieva, Executive Director of the World Bank, will act as Interim Chair of the Institution.
