The Netherlands has returned 113 Benin Bronzes to Nigeria, looted in 1897 by British troops. Previously housed at the Wereldmuseum in Leiden, these artifacts will now be repatriated. “We are correcting a historical injustice,” said Dutch Minister Eppo Bruins. Olugbile Holloway, head of Nigeria’s museums agency, called this restitution historic and hopes it will inspire other nations.
