Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Algiers on January 26 as part of an official visit at the invitation of his Algerian counterpart, Abdelmadjid Tebboune. Erdogan’s visit to Algeria is of particular importance, since this is the first visit by a head of state to Algeria since President Abdel Majid Tebboune came to power last December. At the end of his visit to Algeria, Erdogan and the delegation accompanying him will travel to Gambia and Senegal. President Erdogan’s tour will extend to the three countries until January 28.
