On July 7 in Algiers, Sonatrach and ENI inked a $1.35bn agreement to explore and produce hydrocarbons in the Zemoul El-Kbar block, Berkine Basin. The 30-year contract targets 415 million barrels of oil equivalent, including $110m for exploration.
