On June 8, 2025, the Energy Research Unit (Washington) reported that France led Algerian LNG imports in May, receiving 0.258 million tonnes (26.8% of total exports), worth approx. $220 million (based on $850/t). Despite recent setbacks from maintenance at Arzew and Skikda, Algeria remains Africa’s 2nd-largest LNG exporter after Nigeria.
