Algeria : five hydrocarbon blocks awarded to major international firms in June 2025

On June 18, 2025, Algeria’s national agency Alnaft awarded five hydrocarbon exploration and production blocks under the “Algeria Bid Round 2024,” the first in over a decade. Winning consortia include TotalEnergies-QatarEnergy (Ahara), Eni-PTTEP (Reggane II), Zpec (Zerafa II), Zangas-Filada (Toual II), and Sinopec (Guern El Guessa II). Investments are valued at several billion USD. Contracts with Sonatrach to be signed soon.
