Algeria : $6.5 million contribution to EU-Mediterranean PRIMA research partnership for 2025-2027
On March 11, 2026, Algeria and the European Union concluded negotiations for Algeria’s participation in the PRIMA research partnership for 2025-2027. The agreement was initialled by Abderrahmane Yousfate from Algeria’s Ministry of Higher Education and Nienke Buisman from the European Commission. Algeria plans to contribute €6 million (about $6.5 million), according to the European Commission. Since 2018, Algerian entities have joined 99 of the 269 PRIMA projects, with total funding reaching €12.4 million ($13.4 million).
