On May 29, 2025, Transport Minister Saïd Sayoud confirmed the delivery of 16 new planes for Air Algérie, starting late July with an Airbus A330-900. Algeria also pledged nearly $4 billion (500 billion DZD) for new trains and railway expansion, including major lines to Tindouf and Tamanrasset.
