Akan Festival 2025 : celebrating the beauty and heritage of the Akan Kingdom

Scheduled for December 20 and 21, 2025 at Abatta, Baie des Anges (Abidjan), the Akan Festival 2025 promises to celebrate the richness of African and Afro‑descendant cultures with music, craftsmanship, gastronomy, fashion and traditions. The 2025 edition of the Akan Festival was officially launched on November 27, 2025 in Abidjan‑Cocody‑Angré by the festival’s general commissioner, Alain Anzara. allAfrica.fr+1 The festival will take place on December 20 and 21, 2025, at Abatta, Baie des Anges, in the Cocody district.

Under the theme “The Kingdom That Unites”, this second edition aims to become « the largest event dedicated to the celebration of African and Afro‑descendant traditions and cultures », according to the organizers.

Akan Festival 2025 will offer a rich and varied program: an artisan and gastronomic village, exhibition‑sales, cultural animations, live music and traditional dances, fashion shows, and opportunities to discover African crafts and cultural heritage.

Organizers expect more than 5,000 participants, with around one hundred exhibitors, 50 artists, 15 cultural parades, and the participation of representatives from about 20 countries.

According to the general commissioner, the Akan Festival is “an inclusive space that values Africa, its cultures and its traditions”. The event is meant to be a celebration of ancestral heritage, but also a symbol of pride, unity and cultural transmission.
