Air : Ethiopian Airlines to lease aircraft to compensate for Boeing delays

Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s leading airline, has announced that it will be leasing aircraft to compensate for the delay in the delivery of its 16 new aircraft by Boeing, which has been scheduled since April. Managing Director Mesfin Tasew Bekele revealed in an interview that the delay is impacting the airline’s growth plan, but that it is adapting by leasing aircraft to support its operations.

Ethiopian Airlines currently serves 133 destinations worldwide and has a fleet of 140 aircraft. These figures make the airline one of the largest in Africa and a major player in international air transport.
