AfSNET 2024: African Subnational Governments at the Core of Strategies to Boost Intra-African Trade and Investment

Over 250 African subnational government leaders gathered in Kisumu, Kenya, from November 25 to 27 for the fourth AfSNET conference. The event focused on enhancing local governments’ strategies to attract investment and foster sustainable growth. Under the theme « Leveraging AfCFTA for Sustainable Trade and Investment: A Path for African Subnational Governments, » discussions centered on the role of local governments in promoting intra-African trade and investment. Afreximbank committed US$2 billion to support these efforts, emphasizing the importance of decentralized development for the continent’s economic progress.
