Africa & Diaspora Forum – Back to Africa : a bridge between two worlds
On September 28 and 29, 2024, the Palais des Congrès in Paris will host the Africa & Diaspora Forum - Back to Africa. This event aims to strengthen the ties between Africa and its diaspora while exploring the economic, cultural, and social opportunities that arise from these connections.
The Palais des Congrès in Paris will resonate with the rhythm of Africa on September 28 and 29, 2024, during the Africa & Diaspora Forum – Back to Africa. This major event promises to be an essential platform for strengthening the ties between Africa and its diaspora while exploring the economic, cultural, and social opportunities that these relationships can generate.
You can take the African out of Africa, but you cannot take Africa out of the African
“I was born in Douala, Cameroon, and like many of us, I studied in the West. I spent most of my professional career there, but the love for Africa never left me. I founded Investir Au Pays in 2019 with the conviction that entrepreneurship and investment are the keys to developing our continent. The diaspora has a crucial role to play,” says Philippe Simo, CEO of Investir Au Pays, who initiated the event.
The Africa & Diaspora Forum offers a rich and varied program designed to meet the expectations of a diverse audience. Conferences, interactive workshops, round tables, and networking sessions are planned, providing participants with a unique opportunity to exchange ideas, share experiences, and develop new partnerships.
Among the highlights of the forum are the speeches by influential and inspiring personalities. Economic leaders, successful entrepreneurs, artists, and intellectuals from the African diaspora and the continent will share their vision and expertise. Their presence underscores the importance of the diaspora in Africa’s development and the positive impact it can have.
Focus on economic opportunities
The remittances from African diasporas represent three to four times the amount of development aid. These funds, though essential, need to be catalyzed and directed towards projects that truly support sustainable development. More and more diaspora members are choosing entrepreneurship and providing concrete solutions to the continent’s challenges. The forum aims to highlight these initiatives and discuss ways to maximize the socio-economic impact of these financial transfers.
The forum will particularly emphasize economic opportunities. Dedicated sessions will address various topics such as entrepreneurship, new technologies, investments, and sustainable development. The goal is to show how the diaspora can play a key role in the economic development of the African continent by bringing skills, capital, and innovative ideas.
In 2024, all eyes are on Africa, and the children of the land are too often absent from the playing field
“In 2024, all eyes are on Africa, and the children of the land are too often absent from the playing field,” Philippe Simo points out. “This story will not be written without you. Join us on September 28 and 29 to lay the first brick in the construction of your entrepreneurial empire in Africa and join the ranks of those building the future of our beautiful continent.”
