Africa-China : trade to reach $295.56 billion in 2024
In 2024, trade between Africa and China reached $295.56 billions, an increase of 4.8% compared to 2023. Chinese exports to Africa grew by 3.5% to $178.76 billions, while Chinese imports from Africa increased by 6.9% to $116.79 billion. Africa’s trade deficit with China narrowed to $61.93 billions, mainly due to higher prices for commodities such as gold and copper. Despite this improvement, structural imbalances remain, with Africa seeking more manufactured goods.
