Africa Cantat : Africa welcomes the choral world
Africa Cantat is a non-competitive international festival aiming to bring together singers from all over the world to promote choral music heritage, showcase the rich choral life from Cameroon and hear the diversity of choral music from other parts of Africa and around the world.

The festival – organized by the association Amis du Choeur Madrigal du Cameroun – is open to choirs, singers, conductors, composers and managers. It will feature workshops with world renowned conductors, daily open singing, a wide range of concerts and a rich program of activities for conductors and composers.
After the first Africa Cantat in 2020, which was planned in Nairobi (Kenya) and was organized online due to the pandemic, the African Confederation for Choral Music with the support of IFCM , A Coeur Joie International and the European Choral Association is working on the second edition of the festival which will take place on August 1-6, 2023 in Yaoundé, Cameroon, and will be hosted by the association Amis du Choeur Madrigal du Cameroun.
The festival is open to choirs, singers, conductors, composers and managers and will offer workshops with world renowned conductors, daily open singing and a rich program of activities for conductors and composers. On the stage, the festival artistic program will cover a wide range of performances: concerts by invited choirs & ensembles, concerts by participating choirs on their own repertoire and concerts by workshop participants conducted by Ateliers leaders.
