On May 28, 2025, Sidi Ould Tah was elected the 9th President of the African Development Bank Group by its Board of Governors, composed of finance ministers and central bank governors from 81 member countries. He will take office on September 1, 2025, for a five-year term, succeeding Akinwumi Adesina.
