On May 21, 2025, Mali’s Finance Minister Alousseni Sanou announced the creation of the Confederal Bank for Investment and Development (BCID AES), the financial arm of the Alliance of Sahel States (Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger). With a planned capital of $10 billion, the bank will support key infrastructure in energy, transport, and agriculture.
