On 16 June 2025, the Ghana Chamber of Mines projected gold production at 4.4–5.1 M oz for year-end 2025, driven by small-scale miners and new output from Newmont’s Ahafo South and Shandong’s Namdini, despite closures at some major mines. In 2024, Ghana hit a record 4.8 M oz, cementing its position as Africa’s top producer.
