As part of its national strategy for sustainable tourism to 2030, which aims to welcome 30 million tourists a year by 2028, mid-June 2025, Egypt is to begin a pilot phase of its new digital visa-on-arrival system at Cairo International Airport. The aim is to modernize immigration procedures and boost tourist appeal through the use of a dedicated mobile application.
