DRC : diamond production down 26% in the first quarter of 2025

According to data compiled by the Congolese Ministry of Mines, official diamond production in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) stood at 1.74 million carats in the first quarter of 2025, down 26% year-on-year.

The report indicates that during the period under review, with 80.29% of total production, or nearly 1.39 million carats, artisanal mining remains the main mode of diamond extraction in the country.
