Burkina Faso : Strengthening ties with Kazakhstan
On June 3, 2025, Burkina Faso signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Kazakhstan, marking a significant step in enhancing their bilateral relations. Burkinabe Foreign Minister Jean Marie Traoré met with his Kazakh counterpart, Murat Nurtleu, in Astana to discuss cooperation in various sectors such as agriculture, education, health, culture, defense, and infrastructure. The two countries agreed to formalize this collaboration through an upcoming Framework Agreement and expressed their intention to establish a Kazakh embassy in Ouagadougou and introduce a visa exemption to facilitate exchanges.
