Ethiopia : 7.5 billion native trees to be planted in 2025 under Green Legacy

In July 2025, Ethiopia will plant 7.5 billion indigenous seedlings as part of its Green Legacy Initiative, targeting degraded lands and boosting climate resilience. The effort, valued at around $3.5 billion, aims to restore ecosystems. Since 2019, over 40 billion trees have been planted nationwide.
