Burkina Faso : acquisition of Tema oil depot to strengthen national storage capacity

The Burkinabe government announced on March 5, 2025, the acquisition of the Tema Multi Purpose Terminal in Ghana from Blue Ocean Investment Limited for $70 million. This strategic move aims to enhance the storage capacity of the Société Nationale des Hydrocarbures (SONABHY). The purchase will help ensure energy security by increasing storage infrastructure, particularly to facilitate the importation of products from new partner countries and to improve efficiency in supply chains.
