Algerian authorities have officially approved Eni’s acquisition of British company Neptune Energy’s assets in the Touat gas field, located in the Adrar province. According to the newspaper « Echorouk, » this agreement, signed in June 2023, follows Eni’s acquisition of BP’s stakes in the In Salah and In Amenas fields. After modernizing the facilities, Touat now achieves a daily production of 4.5 million cubic meters of gas. With this transaction, Eni will become the leading foreign producer in Algeria, adding approximately 120 billion cubic meters of gas per year to national production.
