1-54 : a journey into the heart of contemporary african art in London
The contemporary art fair 1-54 makes its grand return to London from October 10 to 13, 2024, at Somerset House, for its 12th consecutive edition. This iconic event aims to highlight art from Africa and its diaspora, while also aligning with Frieze London 2024.

This edition is described as the largest in the fair’s history, featuring over 60 participating galleries from various countries, including Gallery 1957 (Accra, Ghana), Verve Gallery (São Paulo, Brazil), Amasaka Gallery (Masaka, Uganda), and many others. According to Touria El Glaoui, founding director of the fair: “This year, we are bringing together artists from more countries than ever, with a strong representation of new faces at the London edition.”
More than 160 artists will showcase their works in a variety of mediums, including painting, photography, installation, and sculpture.
