Catherine Kuupol : pioneer in Ghana’s mining industry

Catherine Kuupol has risen through the ranks of Ghana’s mining industry with determination and expertise. With over 20 years of experience in the gold sector and a proven skill set in metallurgical processes, she has become an iconic figure in a field long dominated by men.

Prior to her current position as CEO of the Tarkwa mine at Goldfields, Catherine amassed diverse experience at various levels of responsibility. As the first female metallurgical manager at Goldfields West Africa, she oversaw operations in Tarkwa and Damang, contributing to continuous improvement in metallurgical practices within the company.
