Gas: Sonatrach renews its contract with Engie for three years
France will continue to receive Algerian gas via Spain for the next three years. The Maghreb country’s state-owned energy company, Sonatrach, announced in a statement that it will renew the contract with the private French company Engie to supply the hydrocarbon through the Medgaz, the pipeline that crosses the Mediterranean to Almeria. In the memo, Sonatrach said the two parties have agreed to « take into account market conditions to review the contractual price of gas. »
Algeria is thus strengthening its relations with France and Italy while reducing its supplies to Spain.
