Air: Kenya Airways and South African Airways want to create a pan-African airline
In his New Year’s address, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta announced that Kenya Airways and South African Airways would join forces to form a new pan-African airline.
In September 2021, Kenya Airways and South African Airways signed a memorandum of cooperation that included a long-term plan to found a pan-African airline group. The carriers hope the planned cooperation can help the two airlines, which have struggled in recent years as they slowly recover from the pandemic.
