Nigeria Buhari approves record budget for 2021 to deal with recession
Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday gave his final agreement for a record 2021 budget of 13.588 billion naira (28.06 billion euros) as his country, the largest economy on the African continent, faces a recession. The largest oil producer in sub-Saharan Africa, Nigeria has been hit hard by the global economic crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, which has caused black gold prices to fall. The 2021 budget in naira is higher than that presented last year by about 20%.
