Cameroon « 500,000 jobs created in 2019 » (Paul Biya)
The Cameroonian Head of State announced, in a message to the nation during the celebration on 11 February 2020 of the 54th Youth Day, the creation of 500,000 jobs. While the unemployment rate stands at over 30%, Paul Biya admitted that « our economy does not create enough jobs. In spite of this handicap, however, we can rejoice in the fact that, according to statistics, a little over 500,000 jobs were created last year in the modern sector of our economy ».
