On April 8, 2026, in Paris, Emmanuel Macron announced that Ghana will be the first beneficiary of France’s health compact following the One Health Summit. The initiative supports reforms led by John Dramani Mahama. Ghana’s 2026 budget allocates 34 billion cedis to health, about $2.2 billion, including 1.5 billion cedis for free primary care, according to the Ministry of Finance.
