Mining: strategic cooperation deal between SONEMIC and SONAREM signed
Algerian mining firms SONEMIC and SONAREM formalize a partnership to strengthen collaboration in resource development, industrial projects, and sustainable cooperation.
On the sidelines of the Metal, Steel & Mining Algeria Expo 2026 trade show held in Algiers, the SONEMIC and the SONAREM signed a strategic cooperation agreement on April 2, 2026. Represented by its Deputy CEO Nassir Taha Abdeldjelil, SONEMIC formalized the partnership with SONAREM’s CEO Reda Belhadj to strengthen bilateral collaboration in mining operations, development of mineral resources, and industrial partnerships, according to the official post‑signing declaration. The agreement aligns with growing inter‑African industrial cooperation in the extractive sector and aims to support sustainable, mutually beneficial mining projects between the two entities.
