Nigeria: Afreximbank underwrites $2.5 billion for Dangote Refinery
Afreximbank underwrites $2.5 billion for the Dangote Refinery in Nigeria, supporting Africa’s largest refinery and boosting energy security.

Afreximbank has underwritten US$2.5 billion in the US$4-billion senior syndicated term loan in favour of Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE (DPRP). The funding, the largest share of the syndicate, backs Africa’s biggest refinery and petrochemical complex with a 650,000 barrels-per-day capacity. The deal reinforces industrialisation, intra-African trade, and energy security.
