Nigeria: Dangote ramps up fuel exports across West Africa
The Dangote Group refinery, led by Aliko Dangote, has increased fuel exports to several West African countries in late March 2026. This expansion comes amid global supply disruptions linked to Middle East tensions. With a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, according to Nigerian National Petroleum Company, the refinery aims to reduce regional dependence on imports. The move strengthens Nigeria’s position in West Africa’s energy security landscape.
